Pacer Mohammed Shami has been charged under many sections of the IPC, including an attempt to murder, assault, rape and criminal intimidation by the police in Kolkata. His wife Hasin Jahan, filed a complaint against the cricketer on Thursday, alleging domestic violence and infidelity. Some of these are non-bailable offences, that can put an offender behind the bars for ten or more years.
Jahan also alleges that Shami’s elder brother raped her when she went to visit her in-laws in Uttar Pradesh last year.
She went public with her claims of Shami’s infidelity on Tuesday, when she posted screenshots of Shami’s alleged interactions with numerous women on her Facebook page.
Jahan claimed Shami had affairs with multiple women. She also alleged he used to spend time with them in different hotels while on tour, and chat with them using video apps, Jahan later claimed that Facebook deleted her posts and suspended her account.
Shami, however, refuted all the allegations levied on him by his wife, in a Tweet on Tuesday.
Hi
— Mohammad Shami (@MdShami11) March 7, 2018
I'm Mohammad Shami.
Ye jitna bhi news hamara personal life ke bare may chal raha hai, ye sab sarasar jhut hai, ye koi bahut bada humare khilap sajish hai or ye mujhe Badnam karne or mera game kharab karne ka kosis ki ja rahi hai.
However, on Wednesday, BCCI decided to put Shami’s contract on hold. On the same day, Jahan filed a complaint against her husband with the police.
In response to his wife’s allegations, the cricketer has questioned his wife's mental stability. He said, “I don't know what she is up to. She needs to explain what has changed so much in these few days. We even had a great Holi celebration earlier this month. Now she is suddenly levelling all these accusations on me. I think she has lost her mental balance or it might be her plan to sabotage my career".
Jahan is a former model and KKR cheerleader, who married Shami in 2014. The couple has a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
We recall, that in December 2016, Shami was trolled over his wife’s attire for a post he shared on Twitter. The cricketor took to the social media site to shut down his haters and went on saying what his wife wears or prefers doing — or anyone for that matter — is completely their personal matter, and it’s none of their business.
