A New York City taxi driver was viciously beaten by a group of 5 people on a busy street in Manhattan in broad daylight.
In a video that has emerged from New York City, a group of five people can be seen assaulting an elderly taxi driver on a busy street as the public passed by. All five were arrested after the video surfaced online.
Mob Beats Elderly Cab Driver In New York
The incident took place in New York City's Manhattan, an elderly cab driver was brutally beaten by five people on a bustling Midtown street in broad daylight. The incident took place on July 19.
The video surfaced on social media and was apprehended by many users as a group of 3 women and 2 men were seen hitting the 60-year-old driver, dragging him, and using their fists and kicks on his face to assault him. The driver was seen trying to dodge but the accused pushed him on the road and continued thrashing him.

The onlookers looked away and continued about their day during the assault. It was after a few minutes later that a man pulled the woman kicking the driver. That's where the video ended.
According to the reports, the cab driver was taken to the hospital in an ambulance where he was reported to be in stable condition.
The exact cause of the harassment was unclear but as per the police, the group of youngsters and the taxi driver got into an argument which escalated soon after.
The police made arrests two arrests at the scene. The other three are yet to be found. The arrested individuals were charged with criminal charges of assaulting and hitting the victim on his face and criminal mischief of damaging the right side of the rare view mirror of the cab.
The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers (NYSFTD) demanded justice for the driver, demanding prosecution for the group.
A similar incident of violence against a taxi driver took place in 2022 in NYC when a 52-year-old taxi driver was beaten to death by teenagers in Queens.
