After being Vogue’s October 2017 cover girl, women's cricket captain Mithali Raj is all set to pen her autobiography.

Raj has revealed that she will share her experiences from her personal and sporting life in the memoir. Penguin Random House India has acquired the rights to publish the memoir, it announced on Thursday (October 5)

Raj is excited about the book and hoping that her fans will love it.

Radhika Marwah, Associate Commissioning Editor at Penguin Random House India, says, “Mithali Raj is a remarkable role model and is testament to the virtues of perseverance and hard work. The powerful sporting icon has making frequent headlines this year. She captained the team to the World Cup final in England.

In fact, Raj has been the backbone of Indian women’s cricket. She led the team to two World Cup finals. The 2017 Women’s World Cup in England was India’s best performance ever under Raj’s guidance. Arguably, she has put Indian women’s cricket on the centre stage.

The Arjuna awardee is one of India’s most sought after batswomen.

Raj’s achievements are endless. She is the highest run-getter in the world with 6190 ODI runs and a batting average of 51.58. The Indian captain is one of five women with an average above 50. She is the first player to score seven consecutive 50s in ODIs.
