The Ministry of Human Resource Development announced the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2020. Delhi University's Miranda House topped the list of colleges followed by Lady Shri Ram College for women. Miranda house bags the top spot for the fourth time in a row. It is a renowned girl’s college making its mark in the field of higher education and maintaining its top rank this year as well.
Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Minister of Human resource Development announced the NIRF Rankings 2020 through a webcast on Thursday.

Miranda House has scored 77.23 out of 100 and came to light as the best college in the country. It is one of the oldest and leading college for women. MH strives to create a world of equality where women have their true and rightful position. It focuses on its historic legacy of leadership in the education of women.
In comparison with previous years, Lady Shri Ram College for women got a score of 72.08 out of 100. The college secured the seventh position in 2017, while in 2018 it slipped to the eighth rank. LSR bagged the fourth position in 2019, and this year it has bagged second place.
Being one of the premier colleges of Delhi University in all respects. Miranda House was established at the dawn of independence in 1948. It envisions a society in which women would enjoy equal opportunity with men in all spheres of life. From the arts to science it has proved its rich legacy. Miranda House has produced some of the strongest female personalities. For instance Brinda Karat, Sheila Dixit, Nandita Das, Mallika Sherawat, Anita Mazumdar Desai, Meira Kumar, Anjolie Ela Menon, Mira Nair, Anuja Chauhan, Shovana Narayan.
The rankings for India’s best universities and institutions were to be released in April, but delayed due to the coronavirus crisis.
