A minor girl in Uttar Pradesh was reportedly gang-raped by five men, who videotaped the act and later uploaded the video on social media. The incident happened in Imalia Sultanpur district when the minor was on her way home from the market. The accused allegedly filmed the entire obscene incident and uploaded the video on social media. The incident came to light when the video went viral.

The survivor was on her way home when allegedly two men forcefully dragged her to a cane field. Three other men were already present there. The accused allegedly threatened the survivor with grievous consequences and asked her to not talk about the incident with anyone reported PTI.
Police action
A case was registered by the police against the five men after the girl narrated the entire incident. As the news about the gang-rape came to light, protest erupted in the village, following which Sitapur SP RP Singh and additional SP (south) Rajiv Dixit made a visit to the area. While one of the five accused men has so far been arrested, the hunt for remaining perpetrators is underway.

Earlier this month, a three-year-old girl has been found dead in a sugarcane field in the district of Lakhimpur Kheri of the state. The child’s father had called the rape and murder of his daughter an act of revenge, accusing another villager of the crime. Read more about it here.
In the same district, a 17-year-old girl was reportedly found raped and murdered. She had left home to fill a scholarship application. Her mutilated body was found around 200 metres from the village near a dry pond.
Earlier in august 2020, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by a group of migrant workers, originally from Uttar Pradesh, who were living in the neighbourhood, under Kochi city police limits in Kerala. According to police, six migrants were involved in the crime. while three men have been arrested, the police is still looking out for those who are absconding. The girl had been reportedly abused multiple times since April.
