1. A 17-year-old girl and her 25-year-old boyfriend allegedly stabbed and strangulated the girl's mother to death for opposing their relationship in Gwalior District, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday.
2. The 38-year-old victim, who hailed from the neighbouring Bhindi district, was living with her daughter in the Gadiapura locality under Hazira police station limits.
3. On Sunday, the police were informed that the victim's house was not opening. So the police reached the spot, broke open the door, and found the woman lying in a pool of blood.
4. The accused girl was not found in the house.
5. After a search, the police found the girl with her boyfriend on Sunday evening.
6. According to the initial investigation, the girl and her boyfriend admitted that they had stabbed the girl's mother with a vegetable knife and strangled her to death because she opposed their relationship.
7. The duo also told the police that they had made plans to run away.
8. Two months ago, the girl had already run away with him. Following her mother's complaint, the police located them, brought the girl back, and arrested the man. He was later released on bail.
9. The girl has been detained, and the man has been arrested by the police.
10. Both the accused have been charged with murder and booked under other relevant sections of the Indian penal code.
