Miley Cyrus Says She Won't Have Kids Because 'The Earth Is Angry'

“We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women. We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce,” Cyrus said.

American singer and songwriter Miley Cyrus expressed her concern towards the environment by saying that she won't have kids since 'the earth is angry'. In an interview with Elle Magazine, Cyrus said that it is better that we do not make her angrier. She told the publication that she refuses to have children “until I feel like my kid would live on earth with fish in the water.”

As the population is increasing, the food demand is increasing too, which in turn requires more agriculture farms to be established. Overall, agriculture is responsible for around 80 percent of deforestation worldwide.

The singer also added that she isn't the only one planning to not have children for now. The millennials today are becoming concerned about the environment and so, most of them plan to not have children. She says, “when she’s angry, don’t f--- with her. That’s the way that I feel women are like right now. The earth is angry.” She adds that the millennials already know that the earth cannot handle more population, and so it is better to not have children.

“We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women. We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce,” Cyrus said. “We’re getting handed a piece-of-shit planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child. Until I feel like my kid would live on earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that.” she added.

By 2050, the population of earth is expected to reach 9.8 billion and 11.2 billion by 2100. The relationship between overpopulation and its negative effects on the environment are often co-related and sadly, too complex.

“And when that isn’t a part of our plan or our purpose, there is so much judgment and anger that they try to make and change laws to force it upon you—even if you become pregnant in a violent situation,” Cyrus said. “If you don’t want children, people feel sorry for you, like you’re a cold, heartless bitch who’s not capable of love. Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first? If you love yourself, then what? You come first,” she added. Her comments came after she lost her home in California's Woolsey Wildlife Fire last November. “With natural disasters, you don't get a choice. You have to surrender.” she said.

“We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women. We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce,” Cyrus said.
