Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama on Tuesday announced the launch of a new kids' show on Netflix called Waffles+Mochi that will focus on promoting healthy eating habits.
The 57-year-old has long been known for her passion towards the food habits of children. "I'm excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world," she wrote on social media making the announcement.
I’m also excited to work with @PHAnews to help kids build healthy habits and help families in need cook with fresh ingredients together at home. I hope you'll join us by watching on March 16! #WafflesAndMochi 💕

Other Health Campaigns Led By Michelle Obama
Obama, during her stint at White House when her husband Barack Obama was President of the US, was credited with actively advocating for clean eating by growing a vegetable garden on the South Lawn. Inaugurated in 2009, the vegetable patch comprised over 50 types of organic produce and has been hailed as a watershed moment in the campaign of healthy eating aimed at children in the US.
During her time as First Lady, Obama was heavily committed to popularising health and fitness from the platform of the White House. In 2010, she led a campaign called 'Let's Move!' that sought to combat childhood obesity and promote health and well-being across the country.
"This is a passion. This is my mission. I am determined to work with folks across this country to change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition." - Michelle Obama

Posing with puppets Waffles and Mochi, Obama writes on Instagram, "These two will take us on adventures all around the world to explore new ingredients and try out new recipes. Kids will love it, but I know that adults will also get plenty of laughs—and some tips for the kitchen."
"Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities," another description of the show reads.
