Miami doctor hate crime: A doctor in Miami named Dr Jennifer Susan Wright allegedly attacked a Hispanic man, call him by a racial slur and vandalised his vehicle after he asked her to maintain social distancing at a supermarket.
58-year-old Wright has been charged with hate crime, tampering with a victim, criminal mischief and battery with prejudice, a local news report said.
The incident took place on January 20 when Wright allegedly got too close to a man while standing in a line at a store. The man asked Wright to maintain social distancing in Spanish and then asked her again in English but Wright continued to ignore him. According to reports, she then started to mumble "bad words".
This continued in the parking lot when Wright stood very close to the man's face showing anger, the police said that when the man asked her to move back she got even more enraged and called the man "spic", a slur used against Hispanic people. Wright also told him, " We should have gotten rid of you when we could."
She continued the verbal abuse by saying that "this is not going to be Biden's America, this is my America" and then she added," We should have burned it all," according to the police.
She then started to stab the man's vehicle with her keys and told him that he needs to go back to his country. When the man tried to report to the police by calling 911, she punched him in the face and dropped his phone. Wright proceeded to smash the man's phone and kick him. The police said that she fled the scene on her Jeep Wrangler after that.
Wright works as an anesthesiologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. She was arrested last Friday from her home in Miami Springs. She is also a supporter of Donald Trump according to reports.
