Dancer Methil Devika announced her divorce on July 27 from her husband and actor-politician Mukesh. The former informed media that she has initiated legal proceedings to end their marriage by sending a notice to the Kollam MLA.
Previously, there have been rumours making rounds about the separation of the celebrity couple as well as allegations of domestic violence against the actor. However, his wife has denied the allegations.
Speaking to reporters in Palakkad, Devika said that she would have spoken up if “household problem concerns Kerala” and since the reason behind their separation is “personal”, therefore, she wouldn’t delve into it.
According to The News Minute, she refuted the domestic violence allegations and revealed that it has not been mentioned in the list of complaints.

-Devika was born in Dubai and began practising Bharatanatyam at the age of four. She decided to pursue the classical arts by the age of 13.
-She pursued a Bachelor’s degree in commerce from Palakkad, and an MBA from the University of Madras.

-In 2018, the classical dancer’s archival film was voted into the Oscar Award Contention List.
-In 2010, she launched her own dance academy Sripada Natya Kalari in Palakkad, the second one in Thiruvananthapuram in 2019.
-Last year, the dancer came up with a Mohiniyattam performance that talks about overcoming all obstacles in battling the pandemic.
-Previously, she was married to Rajeev Nair, a Finance Specialist and the couple has a child together.
-Devika and Mukesh got married on October 24, 2013, while they were working together at Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi.
