A woman cop in Odisha was chased, abused, and threatened with a sword by 3 men while returning from duty.
On Thursday, January 5, the police arrested the three taxi drivers on charges of chasing, hurling abuse, and threatening a woman cop while she was returning home.
In the complaint, the Sub-Inspector Subhasree Nayak of Mahila Police Station in Bhubaneswar said the group of accused in an SUV chased her and hurled abuses.
The men followed her as she diverted from the route and reached near Police Reserve Ground and one of the accused took out a sword and threatened to kill her. She raised an alarm and police personnel rushed to the spot, the men then sped away in their vehicle.

Iran's judiciary upheld the death sentences of two Iranian teenagers who participated in the anti-government protests that gripped the nation.
18-year-old Mehi Mohammadifard and 19-year-old Mohammad Boroughani were sentenced to death. However, Mohammadifard's sentence can still be challenged in Iran's top court.
Iraqi Girl Attacked By Mob For "Dressing Immodestly"
A 17-year-old girl was chased and attacked by men at a motorcycle race in Iraq.
Reportedly, the girl was attacked for dressing "immodestly" and "distracting" the men. As per the Daily Mail, the male mob accused the girl of distracting riders at the event.
According to local media, the girl's injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Allahabad HC Rules Divorced Muslim Women Entitled To Maintenance Until Remarriage
In a landmark decision, the Allahabad High Court ruled that a divorced Muslim woman in entitled to get maintenance from her ex-husband for the remainder of her life, unless she remarries.
The court cited Section 3 of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986, and said the payment of maintenance is not limited only to the Iddat period, which lasts three months and 13 days from the date of divorce.
