Meghan Markle Prince Philip Tribute: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry paid tribute to Prince Philip who passed away on April 9 at the age of 99.
The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry published their statements regarding Prince Philip's death on their Archewell website. They wrote, "In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. 1921 - 2021."
"Thank you for your service. You will be greatly missed," they added.
The website had all other elements removed. According to reports, the royal sources said that Prince Harry will try to be with his family at this time of need and will make every effort to travel to the UK.
Since Buckingham Palace confirmed the news about Prince Philip's death, many social media users started wondering what would Meghan Markle have to say after this. Markle was mentioned enough times on Twitter to make her name trending on the micro-blogging site. Some users also blamed her for Prince Philip's death.
Prince Philip according to the statement by the palace, passed away peacefully in Windsor Castle. He was earlier admitted to a hospital in London for treatment of some "infection". It was during this time when the bombshell interview of Markle and Prince Harry with Oprah Winfrey was going to air.
Many social media users and UK tabloids raised objection as to why the Duchess and the Prince were going ahead with the interview at the time when Prince Harry is suffering from a serious health condition. It was revealed later that the interview was already shot much earlier and was just going to be aired at that time.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry while talking to Oprah had claimed that some royal members raised objection on their son Archie's skin colour. They later clarified that it was not Prince Philip nor the Queen who raised such questions.
