Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have welcomed their first child, a baby boy on the 6th of May 2019. The Duchess of Sussex had gone into labour in morning and the Duke was by her side.
The baby boy was born at 5:26 am and currently weighs 7 pounds and 3 ounces.
The royal baby is going to be seventh in line for the throne. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby will be Queen Elizabeth II’s eighth great grandchild.
“The Duchess went into labour in the early hours of this morning. The Duke of Sussex was by Her Royal Highnesses’ side. An announcement will be made soon,” a statement from Buckingham Palace announced Monday morning.
Prince Harry had said,“It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine,” further adding, “How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled.” The couple are expected to keep the name of their child under wraps for coming few days.
Succession to the throne:
This newborn child will be seventh in line for acclaiming the throne. Notably, his father Prince Harry is sixth in line to the throne. Thus he is behind the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge (Prince William) and his three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and Prince Harry, in his claim to the throne.
