The trailer for the upcoming film ' Raazi', starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, is finally out. Alia Bhatt can be seen playing the role of a dutiful daughter, a loving wife and a true patriot under the skin of a spy. The trailer has already become a hit and got huge response from the audiences.
Alia is portraying a Kashmiri girl named Sehmat who marries a Pakistani army officer with a mission. Vicky Kaushal of 'Masaan' fame is playing the Army officer's role in the film. It is the first time the duo will be sharing screen space together.
Adaptation of 'Calling Sehmat'
The story of 'Raazi' is inspired by Harinder Sikka’s book 'Calling Sehmat'. 'Raazi' is releasing exactly 10 years after the book was published.

A Daughter, A Wife, and A Spy
Sehmat, portrayed by Alia, is a quiet but a strong woman who braves the world of spies. For protecting her country, she marries a Pakistani. She spies in Pakistan and provides information to India. The girl gives her all for India on her father’s instructions.
Meghna Gulzar, director of Raazi, described Alia in the film as, "She is a daughter. Respectful, righteous. #ShadesofRaazi.."

Karan Johar, who launched Alia, is the co-producer of 'Raazi'. Talking about Alia’s character in 'Raazi', he says: "Strong, emotional, fiercely Independent. The kind of daughter everyone wants but I already have."
The trailer also showcases Alia undergoing training.
The film is a joint venture by Junglee Productions and Dharma Productions. The film will be releasing on 11th of May.
In such a short span since her debut, Alia has got her positioned amongst the biggies of Bollywood. Her fans are keenly awaiting the release of 'Raazi' to see yet another blockbuster Alia performance.
