Meerut minor gangrape case: Four men allegedly abducted and then gangraped a class ten student while she was on her way to tuition in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The girl died by suicide after consuming poison, just hours after the incident.
The class 10 student returned home hours after being zllegedly abducted. She was bleeding, barely able to speak, and her clothes were torn. After reaching home, she informed her parents of the incident.
“When she did not reach home at the usual time, we went to the tuition centre, but there we were told that she had not come," the minor's brother said. He further added that her family then launched a search that yielded no result. "When she reached our house late in the evening, she was bleeding, her clothes were torn and she could barely speak. We rushed her to the hospital, where she succumbed,” he said.
According to the FIR lodged by the victim's brother, the girl was intercepted by four men while she was out, who forcibly took her to an abandoned house and allegedly took turns to rape her.
SP of Meerut, Keshav Kumar said that the class 10 student named four men in her suicide note. The names included Lakhan and Vikas from a neighbouring village and two others. Two arrests have also been made so far based on this note.
“We received information on Thursday afternoon that a minor has died in a village in rural Meerut. Senior officials reached the spot and we spoke to the family," revealed Kumar, adding that primary investigation in the case suggests that the girl died after consuming poison. "A suicide letter was discovered in which she named the main accused… An FIR has been filed for gang rape and murder and two arrests have been made,” he added
However, the 15-year-old girl’s family has alleged that she was administered poison by the accused. “The police are saying there was a suicide note but the fact is she was murdered. It was they who gave her poison,” claimed the girl’s uncle.
But according to the Meerut police, the suicide note is authentic and is in the deceased girl's handwriting. However, the note will still be sent to a forensic laboratory for further examination and investigation.
