Husband throws wife off balcony after argument: A drug addict allegedly threw his wife off the third floor balcony of their house, leading to her death. The couple had been married for 12 years and reportedly got into frequent arguments.
In Meerut a drug addict named Birendra Singh allegedly threw his wife off the third-floor balcony of their house and fled from the scene of crime. The incident took place in Kalia Gardhi area under the medical police station. Singh is a driver by profession. Reportedly, he was hooked to drugs and this led to several fights between the couple.
It was after one such heated dispute that Birendra Singh allegedly pushed his 35-year-old wife off the third-floor balcony of their building. SP of Meerut city, Vineet Bhatnagar said that efforts are being made to arrest the accused. The police also revealed that earlier, the driver had spent a few months in jail on charges of domestic violence.
The investigation is on and no further details about the case have been revealed so far.

In Aug 2016, an elderly man, allegedly pushed his wife off the balcony because he was angry at being woken up for dinner. The incident took place in a village in East Delhi in the presence of the couple's 10-year-old grandson. The child even tried to stop his grandfather from committing the crime but failed. The man worked for a transport company. He ran away to escape arrest. It was suspected that he left the city in a truck operated by the company where he worked.
Similarly, in 2019, a man shot his 25-year-old wife over dowry and threw her off the balcony to frame a suicide. Reportedly, four members of the woman's family, including her husband were arrested.
