Meera Chopra Case: Actor and a cousin of Priyanka Chopra, filed an FIR against an interior designer named Rajinder Dewan who was working on her house in Andheri, Mumbai. Chopra has alleged the Dewan attacked her and pushed her out of her house.
As per reports, the interior designer has been booked under sections 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) 354 ( outraging a woman's modesty), 509( insulting modesty of a woman) and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace of the Indian Penal Code.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Meera Chopra said that she realised that Rajinder Dewan had been using substandard material despite being told about the material to be used. When she asked him to change the wood and ply, the designer told her that the workers will stop working. Chopra alleged that Dewan got abusive towards her and pushed her out of her own house. The actor has claimed that she paid fifty per cent of the total payment of ₹17 lakh as per the agreement.
After Chopra refused to make any further payments and asked Dewan for the bills of his expenditure, he disappeared. Meera Chopra then went to the police station to file a complaint against him for two months. She alleged that no action has been taken on the FIR so far.
Chopra talked about staying alone in Mumbai and how she has no family in the city. Talking about the designer, Chopra said, "He’s very abusive. I had met him at the police station and even in front of the cops, he was abusing me. If I’d tell him that something is not right, he’ll immediately get aggressive."

"He’s not open to any kind of criticism. Such people should be punished. If he’s doing this to me, knowing I am in the industry and have some connections, imagine how they must be harassing the common man." Chopra also tweeted about the case and demanded the Maharashtra police to take action against the interior designer.
