'Drishyam' Actor Meena Says Stop Sharing False Information About Husband's Passing

Tamil actor Meena’s husband Vidyasagar passed away on June 28. Reportedly, he passed away due to lung-related ailments. On July 1, Meena took to social media and asked the media to stop spreading false information about her husband's passing.

Meena shared a post on Instagram that asked the media to stop spreading false information regarding her husband’s passing and to respect her family’s privacy.

She said she was deeply saddened by the loss of her husband. “I sincerely request all media to respect our privacy and sympathise this situation. Please stop further broadcast of any false information on this matter (sic),” she wrote. In the post, Meena also expressed her gratitude to her family, friends, colleagues, the medical team, the Chief Minister, and the Health Minister.

Actor Sarath Kumar who had worked alongside Meena in films took to Twitter and confirmed the news of Vidyasagar’s untimely demise. He wrote, “It is shocking to hear the news of the untimely demise of actor Meena’s husband Vidyasagar” and gave his condolences to Meena and her family.

Meena began her acting career when she was a child and is known for her role in the 2013 film Drishyam along with its sequel. She was also in Drushyam, the Tamil remake of the film. Meena is also known for her roles in films like Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu, En Rasavin Manasile, Allari Pilla, Mutha Mesthri, Muthu, and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol.

Meena and Vidyasagar had gotten married in 2009, and they have a daughter together named Nainika. Their daughter made her acting debut when she was 5 years old in the 2016 film Theri.

Meena Husband Death

Vidyasagar was a businessman and software engineer based in Bangalore. According to reports, his lung condition had worsened after contracting COVID-19 and he passed away on June 28. The last rites were held on June 29, 2022.

Venkatesh, an actor who had worked with Meena in the film Drishyam gave his condolences to Meena and their entire family. He said he was "extremely sad and shocked" by Vidyasagar's untimely demise. Actor Kasturi Shankar also gave her condolences and said that she was "grieved beyond words".
