Indian-American Medha Raj has joined Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden as his new digital chief of staff. Raj will play an instrumental role in his election campaigns that are happening virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, a report by CNN said.
Raj said that she is “excited” to share this experience with Joe Biden and will be honoured to lead the virtual campaigns as his digital chief. “130 days to the election and we're not going to waste a minute!” she wrote on LinkedIn.

Raj will take charge of content to be digitally streamed for the campaign, she will monitor and coordinate accordingly as to “how to maximise the impact of its digital outputs,” a statement from Joe Biden's campaign said. Biden is a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate who served as Vice President under Barack Obama.

Who is Medha Raj?
Raj was a part of the Pete Buttigieg presidential campaign team before joining Joe Biden. Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend in Indiana, has now endorsed Biden. A resident of Los Angeles, Southern California, Raj has previously worked for eight months (from August 2019 to March 2020) on the Buttigieg campaign.
According to some of the latest opinion polls, Biden is leading by more than eight percentage points over Trump.
Raj graduated from Georgetown University and has earned her MBA from Stanford University. She has worked as a research assistant for Real Institute Elcano in Spain. She was also a consultant at Deloitte and worked on the strategy team for Flippable.org and the investment team at Higher Ground Labs.

Biden will formally accept his Democratic presidential nomination at the party's scaled back convention in Milwaukee city on August 20.
