British singer Liam Payne tragically died on October 16 at 31. According to reports, the former One Direction member fell off a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Moments after his death, his ex-fiancee Maya Henry became subjected to hateful comments and speculations on social media. The 23-year-old model and author had recently taken legal action against Payne and called him 'obsessive' on her social media. A source told PEOPLE that the singer was 'extremely overwhelmed' amid these issues.

Liam Payne and Maya Henry had been engaged before they separated in 2022. However, the former couple still had some ongoing tensions, due to which Henry allegedly issued a cease-and-desist order to the singer just a week before his death, according to the Daily Mail.

Moreover, Henry posted a TikTok video on October 6, addressing 'One Direction fans' who were bombarding her with hateful comments. Without explicitly naming Payne, she said that her 'x' had repeatedly tried to contact her and her family from different phone numbers.

Henry also alleged that Payne had "weaponised" his fanbase against her, stating, “He claims that he ‘preys on One Direction fans because they will always be loyal to him and won’t tell on him.’” She also insinuated that he had tried to cheat on his recent girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

Many of Payne's fans started blaming Henry for his untimely death. Her social media was flooded with comments like 'It's all because of you' or 'Are you happy now?' She reportedly expressed devastation over her ex-fiancee's death. Her representative told the media that she is "in shock."

Henry recently published a novel titled Looking Forward, about a woman who falls in love with a "charming pop star" from the band '5Forward!' and gets thrown into the world of glitz and glamour. The Texas-native author admitted that the story was inspired by real events.
