Mason Greenwood Accused Of Sexual Assault: Here's The Timeline Of The Case

A famous footballer from Manchester United Mason Greenwood was arrested on charges of sexual assault, rape, murder threat, and domestic abuse. The complainant woman shared a video that went viral over the Internet and netizens condemned the act of the football player.

While Greenwood has now been released on bail, he has been suspended till further notice by the football club Manchester United.

Mason Greenwood Arrested On Charges Of Sexual Assault

On January 30, 2022, the pictures of the complainant woman circulated on social media platforms after she reportedly shared pictures of herself in a bruised and bleeding condition. In the story that she shared, she pointed out the abuse of Greenwood and wrote- "To everyone who wants to know what Mason Greenwood actually does to me."

As soon as she posted the picture, the news spread all over the globe. However, the survivor later deleted the story she posted. Few other news media agencies also leaked an audio clip where a man(allegedly Greenwood) was heard forcing a woman(reportedly Robson) to have sex with him.

Manchester United, the famous football club of England took cognisance of the audio clip and the video story that was widely circulated. They clarified that the club does not condone violence of any kind and will not be making any comments until the facts were established.

Greenwood was reportedly arrested on January 30 after the incident by Greater Manchester Police(GMP). Later on, Manchester United also issued a statement about the suspension of a 20-year-old English footballer from the club until further notice. As per the statement issued by the Red Devils, "Mason Greenwood will not return to training or play matches until further notice"

The survivor's phone was reportedly hacked and her father was quoted as saying that she was 'devastated' by all of it as she did not want to reveal the pictures. The duo were having a good relationship for the last few months.

On February 1, the famous shoe brand Nike also suspended its association with Greenwood due to the alleged charges. GMP confirmed the release of Greenwood while the investigations continued on February 2, 2022.
