The Big Announcement
At a New York Film academy panel, Kevin Feige confirmed the news to students in October. This was posted online on Saturday after an audience member questioned Feige if Marvel had plans to introduce more LGBTQ characters into the universe, specifically transgender characters. Feige said, "yes, absolutely yes". He further added, "we are shooting right now". However, Marvel didn't specify the movie in which the character will feature.
The Marvel fans suspect that the upcoming movie 'The Eternals' will include this transgender character. Marvel that is set to release the Black Widow in May 2020, has an erratic past with LGBTQ representation. The Eternals will include the first deaf superhero of MCU. Also, the movie will feature an openly gay man in an important role. Joe Russo, the director of the movie Avengers: Endgame played the first-ever gay character in the Marvel cinematic universe. However, Marvel fans were looking for more significant LGBTQ character in the MCU.
