Marjorie Taylor Greene Twitter Account: US Representative of the Republican Party, Marjorie Taylor Greene's Twitter account was suspended for 12 hours by Twitter. Greene’s account was suspended at 1 AM on March 19 for allegedly violating Twitter rules.
Greene’s office confirmed the suspension hours later, as a motion signed by 73 US House Democrats moves to expel the Republican congresswoman from Congress. A screenshot from Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Twitter account says “we’ve temporarily limited some of your account features”. It was noted that Greene can still browse Twitter, but has been temporarily suspended from tweeting, retweeting, or liking posts.
According to a spokesperson for Twitter, "The account referenced has been temporarily locked out for multiple violations of our civic integrity policy.”
Greene’s office claims that Greene’s Twitter account was censored “without any information from Twitter on the alleged ‘violation.'” It was stated that “This move eliminated any possibility for Congresswoman Greene to defend her reputation, her seat, and most importantly the votes of 230,000 Georgians in the 14th District on the Twitter platform. This is yet another attempt by the Silicon Valley Cartel to silence voices that speak out against their far-left woke orthodoxy”
Greene has been criticised of how she uses her platform. On February 24, 2021 she tweeted a video of her posting an anti-transgender sign outside of her office, which is directly across the hall from another lawmaker with a transgender child. Her actions were met with backlash as other lawmakers tweeted that Greene was “cyber-bullying her colleague’s child” and stated that her tweet “represents the hate and fame driven politics”.
