Women CEOs are working harder than the men in business. The work-life balance is a big debate in their lives. It is also to be pointed that women are taking all the steps to stay involved equally in home and work life. And yet again, Yahoo’s CEO Marrisa Mayer is at the centre of this discussion as she gets pregnant for a second time as the CEO.
Mayer, who is five months pregnant with identical twin girls, is expecting the arrival of the girls in December. It is an extremely critical situation for both Mayer and Yahoo since the company is going for a complete transformation. However, Mayer is sure to tackle the situation with efficiency, not taking much time off from work due to pregnancy.
“Since this is a unique time in Yahoo's transformation, I plan to approach the pregnancy and delivery as I did with my son three years ago, taking limited time away and working throughout,” posts Mayer in a blog as reported in a report by the Reuters.
Yahoo is collaborating with Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd and is going to work its future holding in Yahoo Japan Corp.
The last time when Mayer was pregnant with her son in 2012 when she joined Yahoo as CEO, she took only two weeks off after delivery.
Her comeback right after delivery started a debate about working pregnant women in the workplace. However, this comes out as a positive impact on the team of the company by Mayer. Her dedication towards her work sets a new ground for other women who want to excel in their careers as well as for the companies they work in.
Yahoo has embraced the news with both arms open since it posted on its blog that the company is immensely happy for Mayer’s news and supported her plan of approach towards work.
