Writing a job application is one of the most difficult tasks. You must describe yourself as an asset for the company but not brag to depict your over-confidence. Your job application must be authentic but good enough to get a seat. So, what should we choose? A candidate decided to choose honesty. In his application for a full-stack engineer at a start-up, a man revealed the honest reason why he was a good fit for the job. Do you know what that reason is? So that he can marry his childhood love.
What did the candidate write in his job application?
Arva Health, a startup that avails home fertility tests for women, posted an opening for a full-stack engineer. Out of the several applications, the CEO and founder of the startup, Dipalie Bajaj was struck by a unique application. Sharing a screenshot of the application on X, Bajaj said, "Hiring can be fun too."

The screengrab of the job application shows the answer of a full-stack engineer candidate's answer to the question "Why are you a fit for this role?". The candidate, whose name is not revealed, says that he needs the job so that he can marry his childhood love. His unemployment is the reason why her father is not ready for their union.
The candidate wrote, "I believe I bring a unique blend of Full stack that aligns well with the requirements of this role. Also if I don’t get this job I would never marry my childhood love because her father says u will only marry her if you have a job."
Did he get the job?
It is still not known whether the candidate was hired for the next process of job application or not. Speaking to Hindustan Times, the CEO said, “It was refreshingly honest and tugged at our heartstrings. You can’t read it and not feel for him."
However, Bajaj said that the hiring for the position of full-stack engineer at her startup is still open. Candidates with two years of experience can apply.
Reactions of the netizens
However, since Bajaj posted the screengrab of the candidate's response, the internet has been flooded with people appreciating the candidate's honesty and using it to justify that she should be hired.
One of the X users said, "Hire him for the honesty." Another said, "Get him a job omg." The third user said, “My question is did it work, like did it give you an extra edge to shortlist this person?"
