Woman Dancing In Ujjain's Mahakal Mandir Booked For Disobedience

Manisha Roshan Booked: A woman from Indore, who shot a video of herself on the Bollywood songs at Mahakal Temple, was booked on Monday, as per reports.

The video made by a woman named Manisha Roshan went viral on social media. She was seen near the pillars of the temple and lipsynching to a popular Bollywood song titled Rag Rag Me Iss Tarah. Roshan has over one lakh followers on her Instagram account. The priests of the temple and Hindu religious outfits demanded strict action against Roshan. They also asked to put a ban on Manisha Roshan from ever entering the temple premises.

As per reports, a local resident named Rakesh Parmar lodged a complaint at Mahakal police station and demanded action against the social media personality. Pallavi Shukla, the City Superintendent of Police (CSP) stated that a case under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Manisha Roshan.

After the incident caught the attention of the authorities, Manisha Roshan posted videos in which she was seen apologising. She said, "I had shot a video in the temple at Ujjain which was not liked by priests and Hindu outfits and they raised objections over it. My intention was not to hurt anyone… I apologise for it and keep it in mind that any of my actions don't hurt the sentiments of anyone in the future."

Mahakaleshwar temple assistant administrator Moolchand Junwal on Sunday stated that the video was shot in the Omkareshwar temple located in the premises of the Mahakaleshwar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The woman later deleted all the videos shot in the temple premises. The woman reportedly sent an apology letter to the police as well.

Last month, Chhatarpur Police had registered a case against a young woman, whose videos of dancing on Bollywood songs outside a temple in Chhatarpur city went viral on social media.
