Kangana Ranaut leaves Mumbai

On Rani Lakshmi bai's 160th death anniversary,  Kangana Ranaut and team unveiled a new poster from the upcoming film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The forthcoming film will be based on Rani Lakshmi bai's life and will also showcase the famous rebellion of 1857.

The latest poster pays tribute to the valiant queen on her 160th death anniversary, features Kangana as a fierce enchantress in the warrior's outfit.

The poster was shared online. It is a sketch of Kangana as Laxmibai with the slogan, "Heroine of first war of Indian freedom, a symbol of patriotism and self-respect."

It was shared by Kangana's official fan club on Instagram with a caption, "Remembering one of the bravest women that ever lived, Rani Laxmibai.”

Producer Kamal Jain also took to Twitter to pay his tribute to Rani Lakshmibai.

Bollywood has many women-centric films in the store in the coming days, but Manikarnika stands apart. The film is directed by National Award-winning Telugu director Krish and is scheduled for release soon.

"We have mounted the movie on a scale that's hard to imagine. We don't want to clash or release too close to a film that can eat into our business. While we want to release the film between August and September, we haven't zeroed in on a date yet," producer Kamal Jain had told Mid-day.

Kangana Ranaut is also the co-producer of Manikarnika. In July last year during the shooting of the film Kangana was rushed to a hospital after she seriously injured herself on the forehead while performing a sword fight scene.

Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi is scheduled to hit the theatres in 2018.
