'365 Days Without You' Writes Mandira Bedi On Husband Raj Kaushal's Death Anniversary

Raj Kaushal Death Anniversary falls today on June 30, 2022, marking one year since he passed away. Mandira Bedi took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late husband on Thursday.

Mandira Bedi's husband director Raj Kaushal passed away on June 30 2021 at around 4:30 am, after he succumbed to a sudden cardiac arrest. Raj Kaushal was an Indian film director who was only 49 at the time of his passing. Raj Kaushal’s demise was confirmed by Filmmaker Onir via Twitter as he expressed heartfelt condolences for the director and his family.

Mandira Bedi often posts handwritten notes and quotes on her Instagram. On her husband Raj Kaushal's first death anniversary today, Mandira Bedi took to Instagram to share a note that read- '365 days without you' with a broken heart drawn next to it. She captioned the post stating 'Miss you Raji'

After Raj's demise last year, Sulaiman Merchant had revealed details, “I think they (Mandira and Ashish Chaudhary) drove off, taking him to the Lilavati Hospital if I’m not wrong. But in the next 5-10 minutes, they realized that he had no pulse. Before they reached the doctor, it was too late.” He also added that this was not the first heart attack Raj Kaushal had suffered- “I think he was 30-32 then. But they took a lot of care after that attack, and he’d kept fine since then.”

Mandira Bedi broke stereotypes as she herself performed his last rites at his funeral. She was insensitively trolled on social media for defying the traditional Hindu customs, where women are kept away from performing the last rites. Several women colleagues including Sona Mohapatra, Mini Mathur, Shweta Tiwari, and Mukti Mohan among others came to her support, calling out trolls for their insensitive and cruel behaviour.

Ever since his demise last year, Mandira Bedi has been posting pictures with her late husband, on various occasions, including birthdays and anniversaries. Recently on their 23rd anniversary, she posted a throwback picture with her late husband Raj Kaushal. Raj and Mandira started dating back in the 1990s. While talking about Mandira, Raj had once stated- “It took us three meetings before I knew that she was the one.”

Mandira who shared similar adoration for Raj, in an interview stated- “He is a basic person, very honest. There is nothing fake about him like people who don masks to hide their true selves. With Raj, it’s – what you see is what you get.” The couple tied the knot in 1999. The couple hs two children, Vir and Tara.
