How the rapist tried to kidnap the woman

As per the reports, around 6 pm, Kalu, Jodha, Sameer, and Shahrukh entered the woman's house and interrupted the wedding ceremonies. The woman whom the gang wanted to kidnap resisted. To show her the consequence of her resistance, Kalu and his accomplice brutally assaulted her family. They broke her father's leg, and her brother's arm and bruised her mother.

Kalu and other attackers dragged the woman out of her house and it was when the woman and her family screamed for help, a crowd gathered to protect them. As the crowd grew larger, the attackers fled the spot without taking the woman.

However, they gave threats to the woman's family and the family of the man she was marrying

Initially, the police refused to register a case. However, after the intervention of a local religious outfit, the complaint was registered late at night on Wednesday based on the woman's and her father's complaints.

In the case above, a woman who is a rape survivor was trying to move forward to start a new life. She was getting married, and not to her rapist. Marriage of a rape survivor is not a common concept in our society. A woman who is raped is considered used good and does not deserve to live with dignity. According to many ignorant sections of society, a woman's izzat is located in her vagina. If it is violated by a random man before her marriage, she becomes a shame for her family and society. However, men who rape either get bail or roam freely with no punishment whatsoever.

The fact that this man dared to walk in with a sword and attempt to kidnap a woman he had raped earlier shows how we're heading to worse times. Through his violence, he has inscribed his ownership on the woman. Based on this mindset, Kalu stormed into the woman's house and claimed his ownership prohibiting the woman from moving on and forgetting her trauma.

If the woman would have set off to slay her abuser, society wouldn't have supported her. Now that the abuser did the same, the police took hours to register a complaint. This is the difference between a goddess and a man worshipping her. No matter how powerful the goddess is, the man continues to hold more power, evidently.
