The couple resided in the Routpada village in the Sambalpur district of Odisha. The 36-year-old man, identified as Ranjan Bading, had asked his spouse to cook a turtle for the meal. Man Kills Mother After Dispute About Lunch

This isn't the first time that a case like this has surfaced in the country. Recently, a 26-year-old man, identified as Surinder Singh, allegedly pushed his mother to her death in Ludhiana, Punjab, after a heated argument over lunch. The accused pushed his 65-year-old mother from the first floor of their home after attacking her with a stick and subsequently injuring his father during the argument when he tried to intervene.

Singh, who is known for his short temper in the family, had apparently asked his mother to cook a different meal for lunch and began beating her violently after she refused to abide by his wish. When his mother rushed to the first floor to escape, her son ran behind her and pushed her off the first floor. The mother was taken to the hospital but eventually succumbed to her injuries.

Man Kills Wife After She Refuses To Cook Dinner

Last month, a 72-year-old man killed his 53-year-old spouse after she refused to cook dinner in their home in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The man, Ram Singh, usually got into heated arguments with his spouse because he was upset with her for not taking care of the house like he wanted to. In September, his frustration led to him committing a gruesome crime as he hit his spouse in the head with a cricket bat. He was later arrested and is currently serving a sentence in prison.

Man Kills Mentally Ill Wife After Argument About Food

In August this year, a 59-year-old man was arrested in  Gurgaon after he was charged with killing his mentally ill spouse after a heated argument over serving food. Deepak Khirbat was upset with his spouse over a petty matter of food, and his anger led him to take her life. While he tried covering up his crime by saying that she died by suicide, the police found in their investigation that he had killed her.

Man Kills Wife After Delay In Serving Dinner

In another region of NCR, 37-year-old Anuj Kumar was arrested last month by Noida police after he was found guilty of killing his spouse. The couple lived in sector 66 with their 5-year-old son. One night after Kumar returned from work, he was upset with his spouse for a delay in serving dinner. The argument continued to an extent that Kumar took a Tawa and hit her on the head in a fit of rage. She died on the spot.

The cases of such nature are endless if we start picking records from recent years. It's unfortunate to see women facing the brunt of rage and entitlement in a society where some men think it is justified to treat them as inferior beings who are living to provide them service with no desire of their own.
