Man Dies While Confronting Neighbours For Harassing His Daughter On Garba Night

In recent news, a 52-year-old man in Faridabad died from fatal injuries after fighting with his neighbours for harassing his daughter in his apartment complex's garba night on October 23. 

A case has been registered following a complaint to the police by Mr Mehta's family, according to NDTV. 

Garba Night Tragedy

At 52, Prem Mehta, along with his family, attended what they thought would be just a regular garba night. As residents of Princess Park Society in Sector 87 of Faridabad, they were taking part in the festivities in their society's garba night on October 23 when "two young men from the residential complex approached Mr Mehta's 25-year-old  daughter during dandiya dance and asked for her contact number," according to NDTV. They allegedly harassed her during the garba night, asking her to dance with them. 

This led to Mr and Mrs Mehta getting into a fight with the two men over their daughter's harassment. According to NDTV, a video of their fight showed the two men shoving Mr Mehta to the ground, after which he lost consciousness. His family rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

On the matter, police officer Jameel Khan said that a case had been filed against the two men following a police complaint by Mr Mehta's family asking for an investigation into the harassment of Mr Mehta's daughter and Mr Mehta's death, which the police are investigating, according to NDTV.
