A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda region beheaded his wife on the suspicion of infidelity. He then carried the wife’s severed head to the Police Station and surrendered himself. Reportedly, the video of the man carrying his wife’s head has gone viral on social media.
As reported by India Today, the police said that the accused Chinnar Yadav had a spat with his 35-year-old wife on Friday, October 9, 2020, at 7:30 am. The fight was on the alleged infidelity by his wife. The heated argument took an ugly turn when enraged Yadav chopped off the wife’s head with a sharp weapon. Later, he walked to the Baberu Police Station from his residence at Netangar to surrender, carrying the severed head. The hair-raising video of Yadav walking on the road with the wife's head in one hand and a weapon in other which is most probably the murder weapon has gone viral on social media.
The Police has arrested Yadav and this was confirmed by the Superintendent of Police, Mahendra Pratap Singh Chauhan. They have also recovered the murder weapon and sent the deceased wife’s body for postmortem.

Other Such Incidents
In September 2020, a man in Pune killed his 30-year-old wife over suspicion of her extra-marital affair. Reportedly, he was harassing her for quite a few days by chasing her with a knife, taking away her phone and verbally and physically abusing her. On the day of the incident, the couple went to their farmhouse where they got into a fight. In a fit of rage, the husband hit the wife’s head with a heavy object. A case was registered against him under Sections 302 (murder) and 498(a) (domestic violence) of the Indian Penal Code.

Another shocking incident came from Raipur’s Balodabazar-Bhatapara district in July 2020. Reportedly, a Chhatisgarh Armed Force (CAF) jawan killed his wife by electrocuting her private parts over the suspicion of her extra-marital affair. After killing her, he took the body to the Sargaon police in Mungeli district where he was arrested.
In another gruesome murder, reported in January 2020, a man killed his wife, one-and-a-half years old child and the suspected ‘other man’ over mere suspicion of wife’s extramarital relationship. He tied up the wife and the ‘other man’ and burnt them alive. The bodies were burnt to an extent that they couldn’t be recognised. The child was also tied up who died of suffocation as the room was filled with smoke. The accused also left a message on the wall that read, “My brother hanged himself for Manju. She had relationships with several men and that is why I killed her. I will kill everyone in her family." Manju is reportedly the name of the deceased wife.
