Man arrested outside Kamala Harris house: A Texas-based man carrying a rifle and ammunition was arrested outside US Vice President Kamala Harris' official residence on March 17.
Washington DC police said in a statement that the 31-year-old man was arrested "at approximately 12:12 pm, to the 3400 block of Massachusetts Avenue, NW in reference to a suspicious person based on an intelligence bulletin that originated from Texas, who was detained by US Secret Service."
According to a report by CNN, the man, named Paul Murray, was in possession of an "AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, 113 rounds of unregistered ammunition, and five 30 round magazines."
Murray has been charged following his arrest with carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, carrying a rifle outside a business place and possession of ammunition that was not registered.
Murray was detained by the United States Secret Service agents posted outside Harris' official residence and was later arrested by Washington DC police. Neither Kamala Harris nor any other protectees of the Secret Service team were present at the residence at the time of the incident.
