Nandigram Attack: The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee alleges an attack in Nandigram. She stated that her car was attacked once again and added that she has proof.
Mamata Banerjee alleges attack and adds that she has proof consisting of photographic evidence and videos. She stated that she is planning to take up the issue after the elections. She stated that she was not taking any action at the moment due to the ongoing elections and the model code of conduct.
During a rally, Banerjee stated “How dare they attack my car! I kept mum only because the elections are on. Or else I would have seen how big they have grown.” She added that “I have videos of the goons attacking my car. Let the elections be over in Bengal, then I will take action.”
Alleged Nandigram Attack On Banerjee:
According to the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), on March 30, Banerjee was heckled allegedly by supporters of the opposition party. PTI reported that her car was chased by people waving placards. Members of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) claimed that the people chasing the car attacked the vehicle.
The accusations come two weeks after the Election Commission ruled that she was injured in an accident earlier this month, not an attack. The Election Commission had held a meeting to discuss the incident after they received a report. The Commission pointed out lapses on part of Banerjee’s security personnel.
Banerjee has originally stated that she was pushed by four to five people against her car, and the door was shut on her. She had stated that no police personnel were around her at that time. The next day, she made no reference to the attack and instead just stated that she was injured.
The eight-phase election is West Bengal will end on April 29, and votes will be counted on May 2.
