On June 12, comedian-influencer shared an Instagram story announcing the departure of her mother and radiologist Dr Padmavati Dua, who was also fondly called 'Chinna Dua'. Chinna Dua death:
The comedian wrote, "She left us last night. My whole heart. The only god I know. My Amma I'm sorry I couldn't save you. You fought so hard my mama. My precious. My heart. You're my whole life".
In another post, Mallika Dua wrote that she was born to a god and she chose her to be her daughter. She also mentioned her brave friends who have been through similar grief and told her that it gets better.
Chinna Dua death: Twitter floods with tributes
Several eminent personalities mourned the parting of Dr. Dua and expressed their heartfelt condolences. Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted about her death saying, "The fiesty, gregarious, Dr Padmavati ‘Chinna’ Dua, wife of veteran journalist Vinod Dua passed away of Covid 19 after battling it for weeks. Prayers with the family.. words are just not enough in these heart breaking times. RIP @VinodDua7"

A user named Rachna Shakyawar replied to Sardesai's tweet with, "I recall, just few years ago I discovered her Instagram page while searching for handloom sarees. Her page is full of colours, sarees & unique design bindi she wore daily. I was truly fascinated to see her energy. It’s such a big lost to the culture & country. Rest in Peace".

Journalist Sakshi Joshi also extended her grief with the words, "This is such a sad news She was such a happy person Met her only once and her personality was unforgettable. Rest in peace mam. May god give strength to u@VinodDua7 ji and ur family".
Sharing a video of late Dr. Dua where we find her singing a song, RJ Sayema said, "She fought a long and strong battle with Covid-19. We lost a gem yesterday. RIP Dr Padmavati (Chinna) Dua.
