Veteran journalist Vinod Dua passed away Saturday, his daughter and actor Mallika Dua shared on social media. He was 67. News of his death comes months following his wife Chinna Dua's, who succumbed to COVID-19 after a long battle earlier this year in June. Dua too had contracted the virus and his health was reported to have deteriorated.
"Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He lived an inimitable life, rising from the refugee colonies of Delhi to the peak of journalistic excellence for over 42 years, always, always speaking truth to power," Mallika wrote in a heartfelt note on Instagram.
"He is now with our mom, his beloved wife Chinna in heaven where they will continue to sing, cook, travel and drive each other up the wall," she added. Read SheThePeople's interview with Chinna Dua from this year.
He is survived by two daughters, Mallika and Bakul, a clinical psychologist.
In another social media post, Mallika wrote for her father, "There will never be another like you. My first and best friend. My Papaji. Very few live as large and glorious a life as you did... I wouldn’t trade my destiny for anything. It gave me Vinod and Chinna. Nobody gets double lucky."
