It was on February 17 that the Malayalam film industry came to a standstill at the news that the actor had gone missing. The district police immediately started working on it and it was found that she was allegedly sexually assaulted and abducted by a seven-member gang. The gang was headed by Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni who hijacked the actor’s car on the National Highway 544 near Parambayam, Nedumbassery, around 10 pm. The actor was on her way to Kochi in Kerala after her shoot got over in Thrissur.
The accused was arrested a day after the incident and it was revealed that Martin, a native of Koratty in Thrissur who had been working with the actor for the last couple of years, had allegedly plotted the kidnap drama.
Pulsar Suni was established as the main accused in the case and four of his accomplices are still missing and the police are on the lookout for them.
The shocking incident has brought in a lot of support for the actor and many of her counterparts came forward to talk about it. Some prominent names like Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas expressed outrage at the incident.
