Tanya Gyani is an interior designer and specializes in luxury residential interiors. A graduate from the National Institution of Fashion Technology in Accessory design, Gyani went on to study at Florence Design Academy in France.
She grew up in the garden city of Bangalore and developed a love for designing at a very young age. She produced artworks from as a child and continued to do it throughout her product design for inspiration.
She believes nature is her biggest inspiration. “When I am stuck I just take a walk in the park. Nature has the best colour combinations ever and my idea of a perfect living space is very organic. So it’s all Zen with spa colours and a lot of natural elements for me,” says she in an interview with India Today.
During her stay in France, she worked at the Vitra Design Museum. After which, she tailored private residences at the Palm Island in Dubai and France. In 2006, she was handpicked by the British Council and listed as India’s all Top 20 creative Futures.
About staying in France she says, “Each city has its distinctive style. I was in Florence when the minimalistic movement was at its peak. Dubai tends to go for the opulent. Designing homes in such varied cities teaches you to come up with your own balanced take.”
Since shifting to Delhi two years back, Gyani has already taken on projects in Queen’s Court, Greater Kailash and DLF Golf Links amongst others.
