At New York Fashion Week on 14th September, the Hijab became the talk of the town, as models walked the ramp demystifying the Muslim veil.
30-year-old Muslim designer Anniesa Hasibuan, who became the first Indonesian designer to be featured at the fashion week, presented a collection that was creative and stylish, and was applauded by many.

With this inspiring collection, Anniesa Hasibuan has firmly put Indonesia on the fashion map, and is being considered as an innovator in the region for modern Islamic dress.

Her models looked elegant in trousers and skirts in silk, lace and chiffon in an array of pastel colors including other materials. Each model chose their favourite hijab and as per as the report, this was a first when a New York Fashion Week show has presented hijabs on every model.
According to BBC, Hasibuan has a boutique in her home city of Jakarta, and all the designs that she featured at the Fashion Week were inspired from there. Hasibuan in total showcased 48 different looks on ramp, of which 10 were evening gowns and 38 were ready-to-wear pieces.

After the models finished displaying her beautiful designs, Hasibuan took a bow on the runaway, where she received a standing ovation from the audience.
Is it believed that, Hasibuan is a big fan of designer Mimpikita, who was the first one to bring the hijab to London Fashion Week in February 2016, and this show was dedicated to her.
