The upcoming Republic Day celebration will witness a groundbreaking event as an all-women contingent from the Armed Forces Medical Services embarks on a historic march down the esteemed Kartavya Path on January 26, 2024. Stepping into leadership with determination and valor is Major Srishti Khullar, charting a course of inspiration and breaking barriers with every dignified step of the contingent
In a recent interview, Khullar revealed that she is a qualified paratrooper and eye surgeon. While speaking about her new experience of leading a contingent and marching on Republic Day, Khullar said, "Being an eye surgeon, I have been used to holding a surgical knife in the operation theatre. Now, holding a sword at Kartavya Path has been a very challenging but very rewarding experience. I am very happy and very grateful."

Tri-services contingent led by Capt Sharanya Rao
Moreover, for the first time, the tri-services contingent too will be led by women officers who will be marching down the Kartavya Path on Republic Day 2024. Speaking about the same, Captain Sharanya Rao of the Indian Army said, "I am the supernumerary officer and will be leading the Army component of the tri-services contingent. It is a proud moment because, for the first time in history, a tri-services contingent would be marching... Since the theme this year is 'Nari Shakti', many women-led contingents are taking part, be it band, tri-service contingent, or MNS contingent, which is participating for the first time."
