The Mahindra Group has planned a programme to mentor and coach 300 women leaders within five years. The idea is to boost the group’s pipeline of women leaders.
The 18-month-long Women Leaders Programme (WLP) by the company’s Group Diversity Council is aimed at women employees in middle management. The programme includes classroom learning at Mahindra Leadership University and SP Jain Institute of Management & Research.

It also includes mentorship, manager sensitisation and alignment workshops to connect classroom learning with real life experience.
"Only when we create an inclusive ecosystem that brings in people with wide-ranging backgrounds and perspectives into all parts of the organization can we drive holistic, positive change," Price Augustin, EVP, Group Human Capital and Leadership Development, M&M, told TOI.

As of today, according to the newspaper, the Mahindra Group has an average gender diversity ratio of 17%, while at leadership levels it stands at 7%.
Ranjan Banerjee, director, SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, said: " The programme is unique and distinguishes itself from other similar programmes in synthesizing current contemporary tools integrating knowledge with real time life experiences to build competencies in managing life, teams and business challenges in an ever changing VUCA environment."

The Tata Group also recently launched a cross-company mentoring programme for 300 high-potential women executives.
