Previously, the State Board announced the decision to promote students from classes 1 to 8 to the next class without taking the final exams. As per reports, students had demanded online exams for these classes as the entire academic year was held through the online mode.
However, the state government announced that the board exams for class 10 and 12 will be conducted offline and the date sheets for the same will be released soon.
In a press conference conducted on April 6, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) supremo Raj Thackeray and demanded that class 10 and class 12 students, who are appearing for board exams, should be promoted without examinations as well.
“We have no clue about the mental trauma these kids are facing during this pandemic. Just like other students, class 10 and 122 students should also be promoted,” Thackeray stated.
The Maharashtra government has taken the mentioned decisions due to rising COVID-19 cases in the state.
