Maharashtra Woman Marries, Dupes Three Men In Three Months
A resident of Mukundwadi area, Amrute and her husband faced severe financial problems after losing their jobs in the lockdown as reported by India Today. Consequently, she joined a racket spearheaded by a couple that fooled and looted unsuspecting bachelors. Once the female racket members’ marriages were finalised with the men, the racketeer couple would extort Rs two-five lakh from the latter, which also included their fee and wedding expenses. The ‘new’ bride was directed to run away with jewellery and other valuables after the wedding ceremony.
As per a Times of India report, Amrute first married a man named Yogesh Shirsath in Maharashtra’s Nashik district and fled with his valuables after staying with him for a fortnight. Thereafter, she reportedly married Sandeep Darade, a resident of Karjat in Raigad. Her third victim was a man from western Maharashtra. Eventually, Shirsath exposed the racket after he failed to find his 'wife' and realised that she had already married another man and disappeared with his valuables. Police officials registered a complaint regarding the same and arrested the accused on Saturday, October 31.
