Being Harassed By Mahesh Bhatt And Family, Says Actor Luviena Lodh

Actor Luviena Lodh has accused filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his family of harassing her. Lodh posted a video on October 23, from her Instagram handle, levying accusations against Bhatt and her ex-husband Sumit Sabharwal, who is former's nephew. "If anything happens to me or my family, then the only people who will be responsible are Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Sumit Sabharwal, Sahil Sehgal and Kumkum Sehgal," Lodh can be heard saying at the end of the video.

Calling Mahesh Bhatt the "biggest don" in the industry, Luviena Lodh said that she was posting this video for the sake of her own safety and that of her family.

Lodh alleged in the video that she was married to Bhatt's nephew Sumit Sabharwal, against whom she has filed a divorce case, as she got to know that he was supplying drugs to actors like Amyra Dastur and Sapna Pabbi. She also accused her former husband of supplying women, further alleging that "Mahesh Bhatt is aware of all these things."

She goes on to say, "Mahesh Bhatt is the biggest don in the industry. He operates the entire system. If you don't play by their rules, they make your life difficult. Mahesh Bhatt has ruined lived of many people. He has put many actors, directors and composers out of work. He just makes one phone call and people lose their work."

Luviena Lodhi, who was seen in Pooja Bhatt's 2010 film Kajraare featuring Himesh Reshammiya in the lead role, claimed that ever since she has filed a case against them, "he has been after me. He has tried to enter my house using various tactics, and to evict me from my house. No one takes my NC (non-cognizable complaint) when I go to a police station to file one. Even if I manage to file NC, no action is taken."

Following her allegations, Lodh's former husband Sumit Sabharwal released an official statement through his lawyer, denying all the claims made in her video "in toto". The press note said, "Our client expresses his deepest regret that the good name of Mr Mahesh Bhatt and Mr Mukesh Bhatt is being sullied solely due to his pending (since 2016) matrimonial dispute with his wife," further adding, "Every attempt being made in order to formulate a relation between our client and the Bhatt brothers must be construed as a well-crafted conspiracy to precipitate and motivate a lucrative 'settlement' for her disputes with our client; as is amply made clear in her interviews as well. "
