Disabled teacher attacked: An 18-year-old high school student in Louisiana, United States was arrested this week for reportedly attacking an elderly female teacher with disability and pushing her out of her wheelchair. Police said it might have been a case of the viral and controversial 'slap a teacher' trend taking over the video-sharing app TikTok.
The incident occurred at Covington High School in Louisiana and the attacker has been identified as one Larrianna Jackson, as per New York Post. She reportedly assaulted the 64-year-old teacher, unprovoked, punching her multiple times while another student recorded the disturbing attack.
A statement by Covington police details, "In the video, you can see the schoolteacher sitting at her desk where she appears to be talking to Larrianna Jackson. After a moment, Jackson punches the teacher, causing the teacher to fall to the ground."
Police, flagging the 'slap a teacher' trend, have cautioned that anyone engaging in such a challenge would be booked.

Following the Louisiana teacher incident, TikTok denied the slapping trend was a real trend on its platform. "The rumored 'slap a teacher' dare is an insult to educators everywhere. And while this is not a trend on TikTok, if at any point it shows up, content will be removed," a tweet read.
