Six-month-old Layla, daughter of Louise and Karim, has CHARGE syndrome and was born with life-threatening birth complications. Even after the complications, she attended her parent's wedding while the nurses in Bristol agreed to push her down the "aisle" in her hospital bed.

Along with the ceremony pictures, the organization congratulated the couple and went on to describe how their daughter “has been in hospital most of her life.”

“Layla has hearing loss, heart defects and several complex complications but this didn’t stop her from being a beautiful bridesmaid as she was pushed safely down the aisle in her hospital bed by nurses,” the Instagram post read.

The couple decided to get married with the little one as their bridesmaid while the Bristol Children Hospital took it upon themselves to make their day special. The hospital team also transformed a room into a wedding venue while the ward corridor was turned into the aisle.

“It was a special day that the family will treasure forever,” the post concluded.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no guests were allowed at the ceremony, however, the staff treated the couple to live guitar music and a video of family and friends on their big day.

"We can't praise the hospital enough. There are so many special people that we have met and they will be in our hearts forever," Mrs Rezaie said.

As per BBC, Louise and Karim Rezaie engaged last year and it was the mother’s “dream” to have Layla as her bridesmaid. The 30-year-old psychological practitioner said as Layla's future was uncertain, they decided to make a new plan for the wedding.

The child’s father, who is a psychological therapist, said, "It was really the most important thing to just have Layla there, because we didn't really know how long she was going to live."

Reportedly, they officially married on May 21 in an intimate ceremony at the local registry office then returned to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Layla was born on Christmas Day at Torbay Hospital in Devon. She could only spend 10 days at home and for the rest of her life, she has been in hospital. The parents of the child, who has hearing loss, heart defects and several complications, want to raise awareness of the rare genetic mutation, CHARGE syndrome.
