A possible homicide was reported in the Historic South-Central area of South Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, with a woman informing officers that she entered her son's room due to a gas smell. Upon entering the room, she discovered what appeared to be a body. The victim is identified as 30-year-old Hannah Rachel Collins; however, the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
In the horrifying case in Los Angeles, the series of events began unfolding on Sunday night when a mother stepped into her son's room around 1:15 a.m. to check on a poignant smell of gas coming from the room. Looking for the smell, she was horrified when she stumbled upon a dead body in her son's room wrapped in a plastic bag.

The woman immediately called 911 about the crime scene. As confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the victim has been identified as a 30-year-old woman named Hannah Rachel Collins. However, the cause of death, the circumstances surrounding the situation, and the timing since the woman was dead are yet to be determined.
The suspected son of the woman is identified as a 26-year-old Hispanic man, while the man is still on the loose. The name of the man has not yet been disclosed, as it could hinder the search operation.
The woman discovered the body of the deceased on August 13, but at the time when the paramedics team reached the crime scene, the suspected son was nowhere to be found. There have been no arrests up until Tuesday.
The duration of the time the body of the deceased victim was kept in the woman's house is unknown; however, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has disclosed that Collins had recently celebrated her birthday two weeks before the incident with her friends and described the victim as a Caucasian woman.
The scene reminded many citizens of Dahmer Jeffery, while the LAPD ensured a thorough probe into the matter.
