"Take 'Sajni' On Voting Date": EC Uses Meme To Boost Voters Turnout

Kiran Rao's directorial comeback Laapataa Ladies has been winning the hearts of the audience since the time of its release. The Internet is buzzing with film's memes and songs trending on social media.

One such trending meme is a scene where the protagonist Deepak Kumar (Sparsh Shrivastava) who is a small village man with no proficiency in English nervously asks his wife Phool Kumari (Nityanshi Goel) "Poori English bolkar dikhaye?" (Shall I speak in full English?) before expressing his love to her in a heartwarming scene.

Using the scene as a template, ECI has creatively used the meme to spread the message of voting in a heart-winning way, enthralling the netizens. ECI used the meme as "Poori English bolkar dikhaye?" and swapped the original dialogue with "Let's go vote" in a witty manner.

ECI knowing its target audience went on to captivate netizens as they captioned the post: "This election season take your ‘Sajni' on a voting date" referencing the trending audio 'Sajni' from the film sung by Ram Sampath and Arijit Singh.
