Locket Chatterjee attacked: Member of Parliament from Hooghly, Bharatiya Janata Party's Locket Chatterjee was allegedly attacked while campaigning during the ongoing polling in the fourth phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections. Chatterjee's car and members of the press were allegedly attacked by an angry mob belonging to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
The sitting MP was at polling booth No 66 in Bengal's Hooghly district on Saturday morning. As per ANI, Chatterjee told to an Election Commission official over the phone that she was attacked by some locals and also alleged that journalists have been attacked too. The MP demanded additional forces at the spot.

Chatterjee was seen in a black sedan surrounded by a mob that is shouting in Bengali and pointing fingers at the car's occupants. The 60-second clip showed a crowd of people clashing with police, security personnel, many were trying to reach for her car.

"They've broken my car... am at booth No 66. They grabbed my jacket and attacked my car... I've also been hurt by pieces of glass. Then they media persons to get out of their cars and beat them," Chatterjee said.
"A lot of our (BJP) workers are still there... Please send CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) there immediately... some media persons are also still stuck," she added.
On April 6, while voting was on for the third phase, Trinamool leader Sujata Mondol had claimed that she was chased out of a voting booth by a lathi-wielding mob while visiting Arambagh. She was reportedly hit on the head and accused the BJP of threatening voters.
Meanwhile, four people have been killed and four injured in incidents of firing in Cooch Behar during the fourth phase of the elections.

West Bengal Assembly Polls started on March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
