Millennial's favourite show Friends maybe a stress buster from time to time but the stars of the show had to go through a lot to overcome their personal challenges. Lisa Kudrow or Friend's Phoebe Buffay has recently opened up about her struggles with her body image while she was starring in the show.
On this week's episode of the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast, the 55-year-old actress revealed that she had constantly dealt with body image issues, compared her appearance and weight to co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox in the beloved sitcom from 1994 to 2004. She said, “You see yourself on TV and it's that 'Oh my God, I'm just a mountain of a girl',” she said on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast on Monday looking back at the time when she self-loathed. “I'm already bigger than Courteney and Jennifer, like, my bones feel bigger,” she claimed.
“My bones feel bigger,” said Kudrow, who is 5'8''. “I just felt like this mountain of a woman next to them.”
Further talking about the pressures of looking slim and good, faring other actresses, Kudrow admitted that during the show's run, she regularly lost weight “on purpose.” Her weight loss led to health issues.
“Unfortunately for a woman, if you're underweight, you look good and that's all I ever got,” Kudrow revealed which frustratingly led to compliments instead of concern. “When I was too thin I was sick all the time, a cold, sinus infection, I was always sick.”
Kudrow said now she is coming to terms with aging and accepting her physique. “I have a whole battle all the time,” Kudrow said. “I end up with, 'So what? So, all right. You're older. That's a good thing. Why is that a bad thing?'”

Maron also revealed his own struggles with body insecurity. “I'm ok, but I'm not comfortable,” he said about his body image.
It’s almost 15 years since Friends ended but Kudrow says she still struggles with her body image. “I have a whole battle all the time,” she said. “I end up with, 'So what? So, all right. You're older. That's a good thing. Why is that a bad thing?'”
Kudrow's journey towards self-acceptance is highly motivating. However, she recently told Entertainment Tonight that she doesn’t watch Friends reruns because she “might not like myself.”
